I still have very happy memories of the summer I spent in Ukraine in 2015. The sun was shining every day and everyone seemed to be in constant good mood. People were making music, dancing and eating ice cream whenever they could. And that all against a background of colorful houses and impressive churches. Ukraine surprised me. I didn’t think it was so colorful and cheerful. At some point I even thought I was in Czech Republic or Poland.

I made tons of photos in Ukraine, but I also did some filming. I wanted to capture those colorful facades of Lviv, the charming streets of Chernivtsi and the mighty castle of Kamianets-Podilsky. I also made an attempt to capture the cheerfulness of the Ukrainian people. Dancing the salsa, playing the guitar or saxophone; it’s all in my short travel movie. I know I still have a lot to learn about movie making (note to self: more still shots instead of moving constantly around from left to right), but I like doing it. And that is what matters in the end.

Enough talking for now. Click on play and enjoy a short peek into the Ukrainian summer.
